During these periods the ways in which the women lived and were treated changed as an impact of the influential events that accorded as well as the women developing into a valuable element of Japanese history. The life of women in Japan was showcased through their appearance to their rights and responsibilities as well as their restricted education opportunities.
Women went from being housewives who were granted no voice, to independent individuals. Later on in society coming towards modernization, women were free to be single along with the rights of it being ok and tolerated. Over 300 years, the evolution of Japanese women’s lifestyle has changed dramatically.
We are trying to find out how, over these different periods of time, women in Japan have changed, in what they wear, how they are treated, and how their roles and responsibilities have changed during and amongst these eras.
